OBJECTIVE
It has been 5000 years since “SILVER” appeared in human history. A great number of people within that time in this planet has been placed their value and happiness with the special tributes of Silver. This competition was held since 2000 for Art Clay instructors, and opened to general artists since 2002 so that contestants could present to the world their limitless ideas regarding the “Joy of Creativity” when working and creating with Art Clay Silver. Your entries will make all people understand that Art Clay Silver can be used by everyone. We are expecting that this year’s entries will be quite unique from all contestants in the world.
CONTEST GUIDELINES
QualificationAll individuals (including Art Clay certified instructors and students) including hobbyists or professional artists. No submission by a group of artists is accepted.
MediaAll pieces must use Art Clay Silver as the main material, but combining Art Clay Silver with other media is accepted.
DesignDesigns must be original and realized by one’s own skill, and must be executed with Art Clay Silver with/or without media. All contestants must select the theme “Anniversary” or “Free or Open theme”.
OtherPieces previously submitted to other competitions or exhibitions will be disqualified.
DISQUALIFICATION
Please read and comply with all rules and requirements to avoid disqualification.
All entries must;
  1. comply with contest guidelines.
  2. submit a complete application.
  3. pay entry fee.
  4. be submitted by the due date.
  5. not have been presented in any other contest or exhibition.
  6. not be an infringement of or similar to any other or past artist’s work. 

*Contest committee reserves the right to set new requirements if any other cases arise besides stated above.

RINGSingle or multiple bands can be submitted as one entry.

RINGS, ACCESSORIES and COORDINATED ACCESSORIES entries must fit within a 30×30×20 cm (12×12×7 3/4 in) container.

Do not place or fix your entry in any kind of display case or box, otherwise, it will be entered in the “OBJECT/ ORNAMENT” or “Framed Decoration” category.

ACCESSORIESFashion accessories in single or multiple series form, such as pendants, brooches and rings.

** Please have it / them in ready-to-wear condition.

COORDINATED ACCESSORIESOne entry consists of several pieces (more than 2 different types) to be worn in combination. Pair or set accessories such as earrings would be considered as one part of the entry.

FRAMED DECORATIONA single work or series of works contained within a wall-hanging frame. All parts must be pre-arranged within the frame ready to display.“FRAMING DECORATION” and “OBJECT / ORNAMENT” entries must be within the size limitation of 70×70×70cm (2 ft 4 in×2 ft 4 in×2 ft 4 in).

If the submission is for “FRAMED DECORATION” and “OBJECT / ORNAMENT” entry which is framed or displayed in a glass case, please fix your work piece firmly, and have it in ready-to-hang condition with adjustable string or wire. All the framed works will be displayed as wall hangings.

OBJECT/ DECORATIVE ORNAMENTAny object out of the above categories. 

Non-jewellery item. All parts must be pre-arranged ready to display.

SILVER OVERLAYEntries made with a combination of porcelain and Art Clay Series products.

*Any creations which have porcelain and silver will be automatically entered under this division, even if submitted under another category.

Entry must be within the size of 30×30×20 cm (12×12×7 3/4 in).

Entry pieces can be objects/ decorative ornaments, but have to fit within the dimensions mentioned above.

ENTRY FEE
The Entry Fee covers both the Competition Entry Fee, the cost of postage and packing to Japan and the cost of returning your piece(s) to you.

The fee is £50.00 per entry, regardless of size and where an entry consists of more than one piece (a set or series) only one Entry Fee is payable.

TIMESCALES
All entries will be sent to Japan by Zama Art Clays, who are an Authorised Distributor.

Entries must be received by Zama no later than 7th February 2009.
